Effects on Child Soldiers
Compared to children in government funded armies who are not forced into military service, former child soldiers in militias were more likely to present severe mental health problems such as symptoms of post traumatic stress disorder and depression. These illnesses can cause an increase in violence in the person and thoughts of suicide. With the amount of child soldiers being lost in battle they would lose an entire generation.
